—Blue Jays fans in Toronto and around the world

Thanks Roy for all you did for the city and the fans. I was in attendance last year for your complete game against the Yankees and AJ Burnett on May 12th. What an awesome game and a great pitching performance. We love you and wish you all the best in Philly. We will see you soon.

Thanks Roy for being the greatest Blue Jay ever. You are one of the best and classiest pitchers in the history of baseball. I always look up to you not just because you are an amazing pitcher, but also because you are an amazing person, with all those good things you have done for this organization and the fans.

Although I live outside of Canada right now, hopefully one day I’ll come back to Toronto and see you pitch again at the Rogers Centre. Best of luck to you and your family! I know that Philadelphia will love you as we did. You are a true ace and will always be Toronto’s favourite pitcher.

Now go get that WS ring you deserve!

—Michelle

Thanks Roy and good luck. We’ll still wear your jays jersey but we’ll miss you.

Cannot thank you enough for all the good memories you gave us over the years. You are truly a class act.

Best of luck with the Phillies. I will defiantly be rooting for you.

Take care Roy…and thanks again for all the good time you gave us (the fans) and the city of Toronto.

—Jay, Toronto

Thank you. Thank you for allowing us to see one of the most gifted pitchers in the history of the game. Thank you for all the memories. Thank you.

—Chris, London

Being a fan of the Blue Jays has been tough over the last 16 years or so. But every Blue Jay fan knew that when you took the field, we would see domination of the opposing team. And the rare occasion that you had a bad game, it actually looked like you gave a damn. You re-signed with the Jays twice, when you clearly could have got a lot more money by signing with another team. No Toronto athlete has shown more loyalty. I’ll clearly be watching Philly games with addition to Jays games next year.

Thanks for the memories Roy.

—Habby, Toronto

You’ve been a class act all the way. I’ll cheer for you where ever your career takes you. Thanks Roy!

—Davis Dewsbury, Timmins Ontario

I have only been a Jays fan for about 5 years but you were instantly my favorite player. It is so sad to see you leave the Jays but I sincerely hope you get a WS ring with the Phillies – I know I will be rooting for you and the team.

Best of Luck and hope you return to Toronto one day in some capacity.

—Carole M. Lewis, NY

Thank you, Roy, for everything you did for Toronto. You were a lot of fun to watch and your start every 5th night was something I always looked forward to. You brought a lot to Toronto and you brought a lot to the game of baseball. You will be greatly missed here but it pleases me to think that you were, at heart, a Blue Jay from the very beginning and could be wearing out jersey in Cooperstown. I’ll be there for that event. Thanks again!

—Ryan, Stillwater, NY

Thank You, Roy. You are an example of how a professional athlete should act. You have treated Toronto and its fans with dignity and class, and I hope you get as many WS rings as you can fit on your fingers. I’ll be looking forward to seeing you in a Jays jersey when its all said and done, in Cooperstown.

—Jordan, Orangeville

You pitched at the very first game I ever saw, and I’ve never seen a finer player. From across the ocean, best of luck to you and your family in Phili. Here’s hoping it brings Cy Youngs and WS Rings galore. To us though, you’re a Blue Jay forever.

Thanks for everything

—Martin, London

Thanks for the memories Roy, my trips over from Belfast will never be the same!!!

—Gary Northern Ireland

Thanks for everything, Roy. It was nice to watch greatness every 5th day. From the Bobby Higginson game, to the start against AJ last year and your last start before the trading deadline, you’ve provided more memories over the last 10 years than any athlete in Toronto. Best of luck in Philly, hope to see you get a ring, just wish it could have been in blue. Think of us in 4 years.

—Nick, Toronto

Good luck in Philly Roy! Hope to see you win the World Series, nobody had earned it more than you have. Your one of the main reasons I became a baseball fan, so thank you. Maybe in four years we can see you back with the jays :)

—Kyle, Ottawa

Thanks Roy, you’re forever a Blue Jay, not matter what happens.

—Ivy, Vancouver

Your work ethic and dedication to your craft were an inspiration to me for over a decade. It was a true pleasure to watch you pitch every 5th day for my favourite team.

Good luck in Philadelphia…I will continue to follow your career with anticipation.

—Stephen, Kansas

Doc, was there on Sept 27/98. Still harbour a strong dislike for Bobby Higginson. Can’t believe that was over 11 years ago.

The past decade has been a real treat. Your combination of competitiveness, work ethic and talent is unparalleled in Blue Jays history. Few players are cut from your cloth — and here’s hoping for some much deserved series victories and more Cy Youngs in your future.

Best of luck to you and your family in Philadelphia. I will certainly be pulling for them in every series and every game in which they are not facing the Jays. Thanks for the memories…

—Mike, Toronto

We loved you from the day you got your first call up, to your fall to Dunedin, then you got your second call up.. and never looked back…All the best in Philli! T.O always loves ya

—Bammer- Toronto

By far my favorite player. I’ll still hang your signed picture on my wall, even though you play in Philadelphia.

Thanks for the memories.

Ben

Thank you, Roy. Even though you clearly dominated the Oakland Athletics every time they faced you, you looked pretty badass.
