P.s. Jack – you have no idea what you are about to see.
I missed your last game, Doc…. so for very selfish reasons I want to say:
Please don’t sell your home in Toronto – keep it, and then once you have tired of chewing up NL hitters and spitting out their remains, winning a pennant or two along the way, you can move back and finish your days as a Blue Jay! You could be the elder statesman on our 2015 team of young guns who will be ready to ascend to the top of the AL East! Please!
Good luck. Enjoy the hoagies.
Seriously…it was a joy to watch you and have reason to hope each opening day! You are a class act and will always be talked about amongst the greatest JAYS! I look forward to telling my son about the time you spent as a jay…
Pure class buds, pure class.
welcome to philly Roy. You have some big shoes to fill with Cliff not here anymore. Better put up some big numbers or we’re going to kick you right out the door.
I think the best thing I can say, Roy, is that when I lived in the States and coached junior-high and high school baseball, you were the pitcher I told my players to watch. Good mechanics, good control and a great drive for the game.
Good luck with Philly (but take it easy on my Cardinals), enjoy the food in Chinatown and if you make the Series this year, remember there will be 5,000,000 Canadians rooting for you.
Thanks for the memories.
Good on ya, Roy! So now we need a house concert to celebrate, right!

I remember watching your second career start when you were one out away from a no-hitter against the Tigers and I’ve been a huge fan of yours ever since. As a die hard jays fan it will be hard to see you in a different uniform, but I wish you all the best in Philadelphia and I hope to see you wearing a world series ring someday soon. Thank you for everyhting you’ve given to us the fans and to the city of Toronto. We will miss you.
I have been a Jays fan since the early 80′s and will continue to be a fan even now that you are gone. However, I will now be following the Phillies with a fair bit of interest as well. Halladay, you were the best player this organization has ever produced, ever seen. You were also a quality person, and your contributions off the field will be missed as well. Best of luck. Hope to see you pitch against Toronto in June. Hope you pitch a complete game. Hope you lose 1-0. Cheers.
I was there for your first start (BOO, Bobby Higginson) and I could tell that we had something special. Overcoming the adversity that followed to become an amazing pitcher but still remaining a grounded, humble person is something that sets you apart. I sincerely hope you get a ring and some more Cy’s in Philly, but in my heart you’ll be a Blue Jay forever.
Best of luck and good health to you and your family.
Watching you pitch a 4-hit shutout against the Mariners live in Seattle was the highlight of all my time spent watching baseball.
Good luck. I hope you win a World Series with Philadelphia.
Traveled to watch you pitch in 5 different cities and it was always worth it. Good luck in Philly and I’m sure I’ll make sure to see you pitch again!
For a city with an inferiority complex, we knew that we were the best every 5 days and I thank you for that. Thank you for being the best role model anyone could ask for and keeping Canadians interested in baseball – single-handedly. We’ll miss you greatly but take comfort in knowing you have a good chance of reaching your dreams. I just wish it was with us, where you belong.
Watching you pitch every five days was a treat. Thanks for giving it your all, regardless of the team behind you.
I don’t have an “elf” to touch when I think about you, but you are the greatest pitcher I ever saw, and by far my favourite player. It’s sad to see you go, but I look forward to watching you pitch in the World Series. Best of luck to you and your family.
It was a pleasure watching you pitch in Toronto, your hard work and didication was admirable, best of luck in Philadelphia. Watch out for Bob File’s buddy Frank Sykes, he’s nothing but trouble.
When i think about you Roy, I touch my elf
It was honour to watch you pitch. You are, quite simply, my favourite ball player of all time.
Roy and his family will be a wonderful assett to the Phillies’ organization. We are forever Roy Halladay fans and we will proudly display the Phillies’ flag that he will so professionally represent. Wishing you all the greast blessings that life can offer. They are well deserved.

Thanks for the memories, Roy. In my opinion, you are the best pitcher tto ever wear the Jays uniform, and will be greatly missed. Wish you the best of luck in Philly, and I’ll be routing for you and the Phillies to win a World Series!
All the best to you and your family and Happy Holidays.
