Roy,
You are a true superstar! I’m so happy for you and for the Phillies. You made Arvada famous!
Roy, your “stuff” is spectacular, but it is your heart and dedication that makes you the best pitcher in baseball. I am sad that you are leaving Toronto, but I have to feel blessed to have been able to watch your remarkable career for as long as you did. Good luck in Philly. I hope you win a few rings, a few Cys, and come back to Toronto before you retire. Blue Jay for life.
It’s been an honour and a privilege, and the Phillies are now my favourite NL team. We’re all gonna miss you and hope that you remember your time up here fondly. Now go kick ass, Doc.
Miss U, GBOAT
Best pitcher in baseball… it was a pleasure having you pitch for our BlueBirds… alot of Jays fans are now closet Philly fans… I hope you get that ring this season! Good luck and thank you
Being born and raised in the soccer part of the world people always ask me why I am a baseball fan. My answer is always: “Have you ever seen Roy Halladay pitch?”
Now go get that ring! — and come back to Toronto when the young kids are ready to get another one.
Best of luck and thanks for the memories!!!
Good luck Roy!
Hope to see you back at the dome in late June!
Doc,
Thanks for everything you and Brandy have done for the team and the City of Toronto. We appreciate everything on and off the field. I hope that you both will continue to associate with Toronto, and following your current contract, would consider returning,. Best of luck with the Phils and I hope you win your rings. You are hands down, the Best!
Thank you Roy for being my favourite player, roll model, and hero. You have inspired me to follow my dreams and never give up. Most importantly, you never let me down. Week after week you went out there, put your heart, soul, and determination into every pitch, and allowed us jays fans to trust in you. We took advantage of your love for the game and determination to win, that we never questioned how you felt about the situation, and how you deserved to be pitching for a better team. Thank you, Roy for teaching jays fan a lesson, that we cant just take advantage of the good players that come Toronto’s way. Most importantly, thanks for not becoming a Yankee, trust me, everyone appreciates that.
Thanks Roy, and good luck in Philly
Roy,
It was a pleasure and honour to watch you wear the Blue Jays uniform with such distinction for so many years. You will likely be the greatest pitcher the Blue Jays have ever had but more importantly, you were a class act in our city- a sports hero that parents could hold up as an example to their kids. I hope fans in Philadelphia know how lucky they are to have you on their side, and in their community.
I wish you the very best of luck, and one day, after winning a couple rings with Phillie, I hope you have an opportunity to return to the Jays and win a championship with the team where it all began.
Roy,
My world was a better place knowing that you were pitching once every 5 days. I was looking for an NL team to cheer for-now I have one. Loved the red tie touch at the Phillies unveiling.
Stay Classy,
As a Blue Jay fan for almost 30 years, I say you were the best pitcher we ever had. And a first class professional to boot. I am sad to see you go, but best of luck in Philly and thanks for all the great performances.
Thanks for abandoning Toronto like so many athletes before.
Don’t let the door hit you on the way out, AJ.
You will always be a Blue Jay to us. Thanks for the 1-2 thrilling games per week Doctor.
And thanks for not wearing dark blue pinstripes.
Thanks for everything Roy! Toronto fans were so lucky to have yo for so long, we appreciate every pitch you threw, remember us when you get to Cooperstown!
Go easy on my Braves will ya?
Roy,
As a huge Phillies fan and someone who saw Cliff Lee shut opposing hitters down in person for the Phils, I can honestly say I cannot wait to see you put on the red pinstripes and put us back on top. I loved watching you mow down AL East hitters in Toronto – I know all too well the feeling of having a great pitcher leave town when your team stinks (see Schilling, Curt). Don’t worry, Jays fans – things will get better! Until then, enjoy watching Roy decimate NL lineups.
Go Phils, and good luck Roy!
Thanks Roy, You showed what true dedication to your craft really means .
One in a billion man, thanks!
Thanks for being the most skilled and most classy player our franchise has ever known. I am so grateful to have been able to see you pitch all these years. I’ll miss the buzz around the streets of Toronto before a game; everyone excited because you were pitching. You always gave us a reason to be proud of our team, and you’ll always be near and dear to our hearts. I wish you and your family the best for the coming years, now go get that ring!
