—Blue Jays fans in Toronto and around the world

Thank you, Roy. You were the best ever. I’ll miss seeing the Doctor every five days.

Best of luck in Philly! Know that Toronto will always love you, please remember us when the Americans fall in love with you too!

—Brad, Waterloo

I would take my younger brother to several games in which you pitched and I’d tell him constantly that you’ll be telling your kids that you saw Roy Halladay pitch. It was a pleasure and a privilege. Maybe one day you’ll finish your career here. Thanks for everything.

—Aaron, Unionville

Thank you Roy, for being such a class act in all your time here in Toronto. We’re gonna miss you, but we wish you all the best because, let’s be honest, all the fans know you deserve this chance. Only wish it could’ve happened with the Jays.

—Taylor, Mississauga

Thank you for being such a class act, day in and day out. You’re attitude will never be matched by any other athlete in Toronto. For that reason, you will always be loved here.

—Rick C., Waterdown

2 words………..
BEST EVER!
Good luck in Philly. You will be missed!

—Ryan from Toronto

I am honored and privileged to be able to say that the best pitcher in baseball played for my favorite team! THANK YOU ROY HALLADAY!

—Adam, Providence, RI

thank you

—Howard, Toronto

Dear Roy,

Please come back to Toronto.

—Jason, Toronto

Nobody does it better.

Baby, you’re the best.

—Carly, Toronto

You are THE athlete that this city was blessed to have. As a person you are one of the greatest people I can ever say I’ve witnessed dawn a jersey. I’m a 22 year old new grad, and your work horse attitude, never saying never, never complaining, never being rude, working hard day in and day out and not DEMANDING the world makes me look at you and say, if the world had one or two more guys like you in it…

I’m glad Scott Boras isn’t your agent, and I’m glad to have seen you pitch every day. Thank you Roy!

P.S. You totally showed AJ Burnett that money doesn’t mean talent. Thank you again.

—Aaron, Toronto

Mmmm leroy i love you soooo much

—Mike Stelmach

Well I have no idea if You’ll ever read this but I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for all the years you’ve given to the Blue Jays. You are certainly the classiest guy to ever wear the uniform and arguably the greatest player in franchise history.

I’ll still follow you and i’m going to be a huge fan of the Phillies for as long as you’re there.

Good Luck in Philly Roy

—Chris F., Toronto

M*ther f*cker ! Damm*t ! Why couldn’t he stay in the frickin’ AL ?!?

—all NL hitters

I’ve been blessed to see Roy pitch in person and the crowds are much, much different. You have people putting their plans on hold and decide that they’re going to buy a ticket to see a once in a life time pitcher do his job. Not many players have that power. In the next 15-20 years, I will enjoy telling the younger generation that I saw Doc at his best. Best of luck to you with the Phillies.

—Joel, Toronto

So glad to have seen you pitch in Toronto over the years. Thanks for everything and wishing you all the best.

—Joyce, Toronto

Dear Mr. Halladay,
You were the best to ever pitch for Toronto and it was a pleasure watching you tear up Boston and New York over paid teams. Wish you all the best as a Phillie, and hope you get what you ultimately deserve – a World Series
Thanks, Roy.

—Ali, Toronto

We have been humbled by your greatness – kind of like most opposing hitters. Sorry we couldn’t do better by you. Make some room in the trophy case for the next 3-4 Cys you’re going to win. I’m guessing – 23-25 wins a year average,
Go get ‘em, big guy !

—Paul M, Toronto/Shwa

Thanks for being a bright spot on a team that was anything but recently. Thanks for being a constant pro when lesser players (and people) would have done anything but. Thanks for starting the one game I got to see this year down in Seattle. Thanks for the class, skill, and overall greatness. Thanks for bring the Jays cap to the HOF. Thanks for the dominant performances that made major leaguers look like beer leaguers. Thanks for the memories.
Thanks, Roy.

—Aaron, Halifax

I was in Rogers Centre for your next-to-last home start in a Jays uniform, the crowd of 11,159 was an embarrassment.

I’m sad to see you go Roy, but I’m very happy for you. Toronto doesn’t deserve a baseball team, however you deserve to be on a championship contender.

Best wishes to you and your beautiful wife Brandy, I wish both of you many years of happiness in Philadelphia.

God bless.

—Luigi, Woodbridge

Thank you for giving us the pleasure of watching you completely dominate every fifth day. Not only did you give us blue jay fans something to cheer about in a time where we didn’t have much to cheer for but you have inspired an entire country of young baseball players and revived baseball in Canada. You are by far the greatest pitcher that this country has ever seen and it was a pleasure to have you. Thanks Roy
