—Blue Jays fans in Toronto and around the world

The best athlete Toronto has seen in my lifetime that’s for sure. If there was one thing you could rely on as a Jays fan during his tenure it was that Roy Halladay was going to pitch every fifth day and he was going to DEAL. What a class act. Next year a part of me is a Phillies fan. Good Luck Roy!

—Kurtis, Brantford

Thanks Roy. You were the reason why I started to watch baseball, and it has become my faviorate sport beucase of it. Without you I would not have found my love in baseball. You are also the one to show me how awsome Johhny Mac is, (who is currently my 2nd fav player, behind you). I wish you could stay in T.O. but for you we had to move you, so that you could get what you so rightfully should have, a ring and another cy young. Oh and could you win the cy young for the next 5 years? So Torntonias can say we made the greatest pitcher of all time? Thanks Roy, ILY.
If you dont pitch when the Phils come to TO, I’ll kill myself.

—Luke, Mississauga

Roy, you were the brightest star in this city. Thank you for your inspiring performances and treasured memories. Watching you stare down the cleanup batter, last out of the ninth inning with a one-run lead – and then throw a perfect curveball for a called strike three was my favorite thing to watch.

I hope your new teammates provide you with run-support and that your batting coach can teach you how to lay down a wicked bunt.

YOU ROCK!

—Oliver, Barrie

We had the Best pitcher in Baseball. and while prospects are a nice consolation. There will never be another Doc in this city. Thanks for countless Tuesdays (Drunken or not), Efficient pitching, training our youngsters and Everything you gave This city. I look forward to watching you DOMINATE the NL.

—Meyer, toronro

I love you Roy. I miss you already.

—brad, alberta

Welcome to Philadelphia Roy.

—Mike, Freehold

I never had the pleasure to see you pitch live…until last year…in arguably your most dominant pitching performance ever against Burnett and the Yankees. I am honoured and privileged to have attended that game.

Thanks Doc for all the years. Philly is now my 2nd favourite team.

—Tareef, Toronto

Your fire and zeal every fifth day will be missed. Good luck in Philly.

—Addison, Kelowna

Go get those Championships Roy. You deserve them and they weren’t coming here. We will see many more pitchers come through here, but we will never see a greater combination of skill, dedication, competitive fire and human decency. All the best to you and your lucky family.

—Charles, Toronto

Roy, you are a legend. Best of luck sir.

—Mark, Dublin

Roy, you are the man. It was a pleasure watching you pitch over the last decade. Good luck in Philly.

—Rob, Toronto

Thanks Roy for ditching these loser blue jays and coming to something bigger and better.

—Jay, Trenton

Thanks Roy for your integrity, character and competitive drive. To be able to watch your work on the hill was just good for baseball.

Roy, you are a class act. I’m just sorry I never got a chance to go to Toronto and watch you pitch. Good luck next year and I honestly hope you win a series title. Or like 5. The Phillies just became my second favorite team.

—Aaron Power, PEI

It was an absolute priviledge to have you in Toronto and with our team these years. You’ve become an example for everyone in Canada for professionalism, work ethic, and excellence. I wish you 3 Cy’s and World Series’ – until TO’s rebirth has matured into champions.

—John - Kingston

Thanks for everything, Roy

—Sebastian, Toronto

You were by far the most amazing player to watch. Tks for the good times and I hope you get the ring you deserve.

—Jay Lewin, Oakville, On

Well Doc, it’s been a long road…and you’ve been nothing but outstanding the whole time. Thank you for being a professional, an upstanding citizen, and most of all…thank you for being a joy to watch. Our loss is Philly’s gain. I don’t know if you’ll come back and retire a jay…but I know I’ll be there cheering the day they retire your number.

—Ryan, Peterborough

I’ll miss the comfort of knowing that every 5th game would be:

A) A joy to watch
B) Over in under two and a half hours
C) An incredible display of skill, determination and, perhaps most of all, hard work.
D) Phenomenal baseball.

Happy trails Roy, go win some rings.

Philadelphia is in for an absolute treat.

—Ken, Brighton

If you want to come back here, after 4 years, you’ll be more than welcome to and we’ll embrace you as much as we did when you were here. If Philly doesn’t get you to the promise land, I promise you as a fan of this Blue Jay team, we’ll be here to help you get there in 4 years.
