The best athlete Toronto has seen in my lifetime that’s for sure. If there was one thing you could rely on as a Jays fan during his tenure it was that Roy Halladay was going to pitch every fifth day and he was going to DEAL. What a class act. Thanks Roy. You were the reason why I started to watch baseball, and it has become my faviorate sport beucase of it. Without you I would not have found my love in baseball. You are also the one to show me how awsome Johhny Mac is, (who is currently my 2nd fav player, behind you). I wish you could stay in T.O. but for you we had to move you, so that you could get what you so rightfully should have, a ring and another cy young. Oh and could you win the cy young for the next 5 years? So Torntonias can say we made the greatest pitcher of all time? Thanks Roy, ILY.

Roy, you were the brightest star in this city. Thank you for your inspiring performances and treasured memories. Watching you stare down the cleanup batter, last out of the ninth inning with a one-run lead – and then throw a perfect curveball for a called strike three was my favorite thing to watch.

I hope your new teammates provide you with run-support and that your batting coach can teach you how to lay down a wicked bunt.

I never had the pleasure to see you pitch live…until last year…in arguably your most dominant pitching performance ever against Burnett and the Yankees. I am honoured and privileged to have attended that game.

It was an absolute priviledge to have you in Toronto and with our team these years. You’ve become an example for everyone in Canada for professionalism, work ethic, and excellence. I wish you 3 Cy’s and World Series’ – until TO’s rebirth has matured into champions.

Well Doc, it’s been a long road…and you’ve been nothing but outstanding the whole time. Thank you for being a professional, an upstanding citizen, and most of all…thank you for being a joy to watch. Our loss is Philly’s gain. I don’t know if you’ll come back and retire a jay…but I know I’ll be there cheering the day they retire your number.

I’ll miss the comfort of knowing that every 5th game would be:

A) A joy to watch
B) Over in under two and a half hours
