love you
uh oh
Just…thanks.
You were the consummate professional and athlete. A model citizen, which is rare in professional sports today. It was a joy to watch you compete for the last decade.
I wish we could have built a winner with you here, but best of luck to you.
Thanks Roy! You’re a beauty! Thanks for all the good memories in Toronto! You’ve given so much to the Jays. Good luck in Philly. Go for the Cy and a ring!
Thank you Roy!! Best Jays pitcher in team history, a class act and role model for not only fans but athletes alike!! Good luck in Philly and if the Jays aren’t going to win the world series..Ill be cheering for the Phillies now!!
Roy, thanks for all the memories!! You were a class act on and off the field, I hope you get the rings you truly deserve!!
Roy,
Thank you for all the years, and all your hard work. I wish you all the best & good luck with the Phillies. I will be so proud if and when yuou get your ring. I am a Roy fan wherever you are.
Go show the rest of the MLB what we have known for year!
Anytime Roy was on the mound you knew it was going to be a great game. Although I’m not from Toronto, I watched every game and if I couldn’t watch it I was listening to it on the radio. Roy will be sadly missed, but I’m excited for him as well. He deserves the opportunity to get his chance at the World Series and unfortunately the Blue Jays were not at the point yet. I hope all Philly fans realize what they are getting and give him the biggest welcome ever! Good luck Roy, we are all still cheering for you no matter where you are!
Sir,
I was lucky enough to see you pitch in 2002 & 2006, and so many games on television, thanks for everything and best of luck in the senior circuit.
Win a mitt-ful of rings in Philly. Then if you ever want to, come back. We’d love to have you wear our colours anytime; it sure was an honour the first time around.
I’m a Philadrlphia resident & obviously a huge Phillies fan.I’m excited to see what you will bring to our team.
My first experience of Halladay was the final game of the 1998 season and Halladay in only the second game of his career had a no-hitter with 2 outs in the bottom of the 9th against the Detroit Tigers. Bobby Higgenson may have ruined the night but Roy got the win, one of many he’d get over his Blue Jay carerr but the most memorable for me.
Good luck Roy and keep firing them in there.
It was May 31st, 2007. The Chicago White Sox were in town. Mark Buehrle vs. Roy Halladay. Quickest baseball game of your life. A 2-0 Toronto final. In the 7th inning, which would end up being Halladay’s last, Doc threw his world-renowned cutter to Darin Erstad who, like many before him, swung and missed. Running down-and-in on the left-handed hitting Erstad, it was the ankle-breaker. And down went Erstad. Ligament damage. Out of the game, and onto the 15-day disabled list. Doc doesn’t have to hit you with his cutter to hurt you; that’s how devastating the pitch is. And I’m not sure I’ll ever see something like that again.
Though from los angeles california and not a Blue Jays fan I still feel sad that you are no longer going to be a part of the Blue Jays organization. As my favorite pitcher and favorite player in the major leagues I have watched you in sheer amazement for your pitching abilities are nothing short of amazing. As the face of the Blue Jays team goes I wish you nothing but the best and hopefully you understand that you shall be greatly supported no matter where you go. Best of luck in Philly and I wish you nothing but the best!
Best Jay off all-time, go get ‘em in the NL!
I feel blessed to have watched Roy Halladay pitch. The fact that he played on my team, and my city; is something else entirely. Thank you
I remember watching your first ever major league start when I was still a kid. Thanks for all the memories you have left with us!
