Thanks for all the great years Doc. I’m going to try and catch as many games as I can when your pitching in the Phille. Show the NL what the Doc can do. Go out and win that ring you have earned all these years and when your done come back to the Jays by then with a pinch or two of luck the Jays will be making their push.
Roy,
I lost touch with baseball a while back and I went to your almost no hitter game and was an instant fan again. I was really impressed with how you handled your development over the years…it truly made me warm and fuzzy to see you exceed expectations. Thanks for being a major part of Canadian baseball and all the best to you and your family.
Its been a pleasure doc!! I hope you all the best and count me in for a Halladay phillies jersey!
Doc, thanks for everything!!! I will never forget the feeling in the bottom of the ninth when you were going for yet again another complete game shutout. I’ve seen it many times from you live and it has been the most electric thing going in the Dome since the glory years. I will truly miss you dominating the Stankees time and time again. We are all behind you and thank you for your classiness and wish you the best of luck. When you go to the Hall, I hope it is in a Jays uniform. .
Doc, you are what they meant when they thought up the game of baseball. You’re the best darn player I have ever seen play this game.
Roy,
Many thanks and all the best of luck in Phillie. I sincerely hope and dream to see you pitching in the 2010 World Series and then in the Victory Celebrations, and ultimately in the Hall of Fame induction ceremony that is certainly to be! You deserve it all. You have been the all-time greatest Bluejay player ever, in my humble opinion. Merry Christmas & Happy New Year too!
Roy you are an inspiration to everyone who ever wants to be an athelete
Thanks Roy!
You made me love baseball again. More sport need leaders like you. While your work on the field was spectacular, it was the work ethic that made me look up to you.
Thank-you Roy for your work ethic, for your professionalism and your heart. It was a pleasure to watch you pitch.
Good luck with the Phillies, you deserve making it to the post season. You’ll always be a Blue Jay in our hearts.
After so many years of your dedication, professionalism and consistent domination of AL hitters it is truly sad to see you go and you will be missed by all Toronto sport fans. You are in every sense of the word irreplaceable and your combination of skill and modesty is nothing shott of a pleasure to observe in the modern age of sports. Myself and every Jays fan that knows anything about who you are will be cheering for you in your quest for a world series championship. The only possible regret I can think of over the past seven years is that we were unable to put the team you deserve around you.
Other than a title, I hope pitching in the NL East will finally bring you the recognition that you deserve as one of bseball’s greatest pitchers!
Roy, you exemplified class & dignity. I pray that you were able to, impress upon as many players as possible in the Jays organization, your focus & determination.
Better get your tix early coz when the phils retun to toronto next summer, you can bet it will be the first sold out Rogers Center for a ball game since the glory years… That includes YOU roy lol…. Good Luck
Roy,
you were the only reason why i came to the ball park. To watch you pitch, learn from you, and admire the work that you have done. Thanks for the memories!!:(
Roy,
You’re a true MVP, and I’d be surprised if you didn’t net one before your career is over. It takes a special player to carry a team when you only play every five days, but you did it for a long time. Thank you for sticking around as long as you did, and for always being a shining example that the old-school class-acts are still around, and they’re still the best.
Good luck, and I look forward to seeing you work again in the future.
Thanks Roy! You were an absolute pleasure to watch, just wish I had of seen you live. Best of luck in Philly, hope you get the ring you deserve!
Thanks Roy for the memories….. you are the perfect professional in every way on the feild and off. You will be missed but not forgotten, I speak on behalf of Toronto when i say we all hope u get the ring with philly and maybe before you retire, you will be back in a Blue Jay uniform to finish what you started.. GOOD LUCK to u and your family and merry christmas buddy
Thanks Roy, you are the best pitcher in baseball and you have been for at least the past 6 years. You were always overlooked since you were on toronto but you never complained. You are the definition of a professional. It was time for a change, after all you arent getting any younger and you deserve a world series. good luck in philly- your the man.
Roy I can’t imagine how the Blue Jays are gonna get by without you. You will be dearly missed, and I’m gonna be cheering for you when you come to the Dome again next year and when you get to the postseason you clearly deserve.

Thanks, Roy! Being a Blue Jay fan from Indiana is difficult. We don’t get to see the Jays on tv or live very often. The games that I saw you pitch were inspiring. It is just like watching Greg Maddux. You play the game the right way and for the right reasons. Good luck in Philly!
