When I was a kid, all I cared about was our batting.
I would never watch the defensive half of the inning. I wasn’t much a fan, you changed that. I made a special point to watch the games you’d start, it’s amazing to watch a pitcher so dominant, he can choose how he wants to get you out.
Holding the record for worst ERA for a pitcher over 40 innings in a season to 2003 Cy Young winner shows us how you have persevered. Many say we will never see a 300 game winner ever again, but if baseball gets another Roy Halladay on a competitive team, we will see 300 wins again. Every time you pitch and let on your first baserunner, there is some disappointment in me, because I always have a deep rooted feeling that I will witness a perfect game from you.
Lastly, never have I heard of such a great team player let alone for somebody who plays only every fifth game, you have made your team mates better by being a leader and an inspiration. If anybody we have in our system turns out to be a star, we’ll have you to thank for it. I hope there’s a blue jay on your head when you enter the hall.
Thank you Roy
Roy, I wish you the world series you so desire. I went to Toronto a couple of time a Year from Quebec City, and it was always timed so i would see you pitch. Thanks for the Memories Bonne Chance!!
See you back in Toronto this summer. I’ll give you a standing ovation but then will boo the heck out of your Phillies.
Thanks for being professional, hard working, and the best Blue Jay ever.
Toronto and the Blue Jays will miss you.
Thank you Roy! You were a big part of my life all these years in Toronto. I trully hope your dreams come true. And WHEN they do, please come back and share the WS joy with us! THANK YOU
Grew up watching you pitch, many memories of you. One of the best ever for the Blue Jays and soon to be one of the best ever for the Phillies.
Thanks for the memories Roy.
Best Pitcher in the MLB
Thanks for the memories Roy! I hope you wear the blue and white when you make it to Cooperstown.
Thanks for all the hard work, Doc! You will be missed by Blue Jays fans everywhere.
Roy Halladay should go into the Hall of Fame as a Jay no matter what happens from here on in. GBOAT is right.
Thanks for being pretty good at baseball.
Doctor, Doctor…Gimme the news, i gotta bad case of loving you.
Roy Halladay meant summer was here. Whatever happened in the previous winter, I always relied on him to remind me of an arrival of a new year. That’s what I’ll miss the most.
Hey CC. Cliff, Lincecum, Felix…imma let you finish….
but Roy Halladay is the best pitcher of ALL TIME….
of ALL TIME.
Thanks for the memories, GBOAT.
Greatest Blue Jay Of All Time.
Philly, you are not only getting the best pitcher in baseball, but a class act and a genuinely good man. There a lot of drama queens and walking egos in this game, but this isn’t one of them.
It was an honour to watch you pitch every five days and you will be missed. Thanks, Doc.
welcome to philly, time to win a ring
Roy, I wish you nothing but the best in Philadelphia. You are without a doubt the greatest Blue Jays pitcher in the history of the franchise. I can’t think of anyone more perfect as a model of hard-work, consistency, and class. We will miss you in Toronto, but I think our future is bright with the acquisitions of Kyle Drabek, Brett Wallace, and Travis D’Arnaud, to go along with other players such as Adam Lind, Aaron Hill, Travis Snider, Ricky Romero, Brett Cecil, Mark Rzepcynzski and Shaun Marcum, among others. I also hope you pitch against us in June so I can, along with others, give you the standing o you deserve!

Roy, there have been some hard times in my baseball career, and I’m only an 18 year old. I’ve had to undergo surgery and have sat out entire seasons. Watching you on the mound and hearing about how serious your preparations were for every game, made me understand that I had to put in the same amount of work if I wanted to benefit me team game in and game out. I appreciate all you’ve done for the city of Toronto and the Toronto Blue Jays, but I want to personally thank you for furthering my love for the game of baseball.
